Eru's Vision
After the Ainur fashioned their great song - the song from which the material Universe was formed - Eru showed them a vision of what their song had created. Then he spoke the word "Eä", so the Universe would become real, and a light appeared. The tale of this music is one of the first stories the Valar gave the Elves. Rumil the Sage told this story in the Ainulindale. This particular composition is believed to have been brought to Middle Earth by the Maia Melian. It was preserved in Rivendell, along with the Ainulindale, where it was discovered by Eleilinde.
